What was I thinking?

I finally broke down and set up a Facebook account.  I need to get hooked on another addictive time waster like I need an auxiliary anus, but it was the ONLY way I was ever going to get to see Squidboy's pics - or chat online with him.  But now I need to figure out how to disconnect the associated email account from my Crackberry's email program, because every time I turn around, I have half a bazillion messages from Facebook's server that so-and-so has sent me an invitation to something or other.  Invites are great, but the games I've tried to join won't let me play because I use a Mac, not a PC.  Dissed again....

I just signed up on Fb myself about a week ago. *sigh*
It's not bad so far, although I'm not into the gaming thing... thank goodness for that, timewise!
My real intention is to use it as an additional pimping arena for my Pondering products when I finally get them set up on line, hopefully by the end of the month. I even broke down and bought a simple, inexpensive digital camera so it will be quicker and easier (I hope, being such a tech-tard that I am) to load the product pics.
We shall see ;-)

So, how many truckloads did SquidBoy end up bringing home?

LOL Actually, he dragged home less than I thought: 3 VERY full sea bags, a backpack, duffle and garment bag. We actually managed to make it out of the terminal and to the car without having to rent a cart. It would have been more if he hadn't removed most of his DVDs from their original cases and put the discs in a DVD wallet - and then tossed the original cases. Most of what he brought home will be staying here until he returns to shore duty from sea deployment...whenever that is. His truck will stay here too. Insurance rates are a LOT better around here than there, and he can't use it while he's at sea anyway, so why take it and pay for 6-8 months' storage, in addition to the insurance? (Oh, and keeping it here with "occasional use" coverage on our family policy is a fraction of the cost of "19-y.o. male with speeding tickets and accidents" rates!)

BTW, best of luck with your Pondering products! I'm excited for you!

Facebook needs to lose it's bad rap! I've been delighted to be able to catch up with friends--old and new! Odd though, haven't had any issues with games or any part of it for that matter on my Mac. What browser do you use? I turned off Safari a long time ago since it had difficulties with compatibility and playing well with others. Haven't had an issue since switching to Firefox.

Jean, I'm looking forward to seeing your stuff online!

Dori, I use Safari. I know Firefox is more secure, but I got to used to Safari that I use it far more. And, oddly enough, I've had more problems with Firefox than I've had with Safari. Go figure....

Oh, BTW, Techgeek uses Safari too, and he hasn't gotten any of the "sorry, Mac user, you can't play"-type messages. Weird.

BTW, Squidboy brought home enough stuff that it took all four of us to haul it to the truck. He left about half of it here when he went back - and some of what he took with him may have to be put into storage on base, 'cuz it's not going to fit into his alloted space on "the boat"!
