PSA: "Drowning Doesn’t Look Like Drowning"

Here's a piece of potentially life-saving information from Mario Vittone's blog:

"Drowning is almost always a deceptively quiet event. The waving, splashing, and yelling that dramatic conditioning (television) prepares us to look for, is rarely seen in real life."

I came close to drowning as a child, and I wish the asshat adult who stood just out of arm's reach and laughed at me had read and understood this. Some memories never go away....
