Friends...gotta love 'em

Earlier this evening, Athos and I were sitting in one of our two favorite coffee shops (the one that also sells a nice selection of good wines and top shelf liquor) and enjoying a couple of their specialty sandwiches, when my cell phone went off. No big deal, right? Happens all the time.

So I reached down to extract the phone from its too-snug case. Unfortunately, during said extraction, I somehow managed to unknowingly (a) turn the volume up and (b) hit the "answer" button while the phone was still holstered. The magnets in the case are supposed to lock the keys and prevent the phone from accidentally dialing Outer Mongolia on a three-way with the ISS. You'd think it'd also lock the *send* key as well. Maybe not an EPIC FAIL in the grand scheme of things, but it was rather embarrassing nonetheless.

Thank gods the place was semi-empty, so there weren't a lot of witnesses. Including a friend who works there, who will likely tease me about it for the foreseeable future. *sigh* The downside was that semi-empty also meant semi-quiet - as in, there wasn't any background noise to mask some of the sound. So everybody within the building was treated to my friend's favorite ringtone. At almost full volume. While I tried desperately - and mostly unsuccessfully - tried to get the goddamn phone OUT of its holder and kill the midi.

Remember the friend I mentioned not too long ago, the one who sent me the ribald verse? Yep, same guy. The one who I now need to "thank" properly for tonight's impromptu musical entertainment. Fair warning - I owe you one, Draken. I don't know how, or when, or where, but your butt is gonna be mine!

In brief, we treated everyone to this unforgettable British comedic theme song. Think "Dance of the Bumble Bee" performed on a kazoo and you get the general idea.

No, I'm not going to tell you what it is. Go listen for yourself. If you don't immediately recognize it, your education is sadly lacking....

BTW, should you find yourself in need of a TV show theme to turn into a ringtone, I suggest you try this site. It's the mother lode.
