Unhappy kitty , part deux

I had to take her back to our veterinarian and have her ear rewrapped after it swelled back up and she kept leaking blood and serous fluid everywhere. The first bandage should have been in place long enough to do the trick, but not, apparently, on this pissed-off feline. If looks could kill, I would have been reduced to a puddle of protoplasm in the vet's office this morning. I am not her favorite person today!

I'm getting worried about her. We realized she hadn't been off the sofa all day to eat, drink or use the litterbox, so I tempted her with some canned food. She'll normally run everyone over to get to canned cat food, but this evening? Nothing. She just sat and looked at it.

I know her ear hurts, but she'll still purr for us, so why won't she eat? Can't blame the bandaging, that had to come off last night after her ear popped loose and the wrap rolled down over her eyes! I'm thinking it's time for antibiotics . . . if I have any. Otherwise, it'll be Monday before we can get her started....

I'll bet that hurts like hell.
Also bet you're right about needing antibiotics. Poor thing!

We went by the vet's office and got her some Orbax, and she seems to be a little better now. I'm still on her shit list, though - she hates having pills shoved down her throat, and she's not much happier with me when I have to massage the ear to get the fluid build-up out. The good news is that she's eating again and the fluid build-up is slowing. Maybe by the time the drain comes out, she'll be speaking to me again!

Oh - and the baby aspirin helps! But she can only have it every 3 days....
